With our new partnership with the Global Nutrition Cluster, AfD is taking its first steps towards scaling up nutrition in our health programs.
The new report by AfD’s Public Health Nutritionist Alison Farnham, presents the current situation regarding the nutritional assessment of children under 5 years old at the Shahid Abdul Razaq Comprehensive Health Centre in Kabul, Afghanistan.
To close the existing gaps in malnutrition assessments of children under 5, and to improve future response, members of the CHC staff will attend the monthly meetings of the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) working group in Kabul as of November 2017 and receive additional training.
We are hopeful that this collaboration will enable us to begin to move forward with the establishment of both treatment facilities at the CHC and training of community health works in order to further IMAM in both the CHC and the wider community.
